There is a growing trend of connecting more and more things. Initially, it was only computers that were connected, but now we are even connecting our sneakers. And now each connected device is becoming intelligent. This intelligence is not just about collecting data it’s also about receiving and reacting to that data: It involves connectivity, intelligence, and logical interactions.
The control over the means of production is shifting away from big enterprises. We are observing the means of production relocating to smaller companies, often in more rural areas. For instance, today, any small company in America can compete in the rapidly growing domestic industrial 3d printing industry. The biggest benefit of 3D printing is the time savings. The time for development and taking the tooling or a trial period down to a fraction of what it is with traditional methods is a huge benefit, especially when trying to get to market. This and other strings of changes happening almost simultaneously is becoming known as Web 3.0, also known as Web3, is the third generation of the World Wide Web (WWW).
Currently a work in progress, it is a vision of a decentralized and open web with greater utility for its users than today’s Web 2.0. It is a blockchain-based internet that’s decentralized and open. It’s designed to give users more control over their data and privacy and to change how information is managed and, how the internet is monetized.
Web3 is also expected to rely heavily on artificial intelligence (AI) to help machines understand and interpret data. Some say that Web3 could lead to a more inclusive and user-centric web experience, where users have greater ownership and fewer middlemen.
Web3 is a term used to describe the next iteration of the internet, one that is built on blockchain technology and is communally controlled by its users. McKinsey & Company Oct 10, 2023, What is Web3 technology (and why is it important)? – McKinsey
So the question I have is how long does the cable connecting my sneakers to the WEB 3 need to be???
The answer is that WEB3 is Wireless. No Cables. A cable will let you browse MySpace, but it will not let you into WEB3. And It is Wireless mostly because Web3 is really about YOU.
WEB3 is all about you. where you are, what you want, what you need. Make sure that you are representing yourself, see also Proof of Identity.
These are deployed within a Mesh Network – A mesh network is a local area network topology in which the infrastructure nodes (i.e. bridges, switches, and other infrastructure devices) connect directly, dynamically, and non-hierarchically to as many other nodes as possible and cooperate to efficiently route data to and from clients.
This lack of dependency on one node allows for every node to participate in the relay of information. Mesh networks dynamically self-organize and self-configure, which can reduce installation overhead. The ability to self-configure enables the dynamic distribution of workloads, particularly in the event a few nodes should fail. This in turn contributes to fault tolerance and reduced maintenance costs. And please, Web3 is not on the same network as My Space. So if you are looking for it there, well there is your problem.
It all starts with a Network of Networks.
Platform=Network of Networks
Successful Platforms= Network of Networks with a Place and a Purpose
If a network has a purpose and a place, you can add value to your network. Add value to your network and it becomes a platform. Adding value generally happens when a workflow, is matched to a network.
And if you are thinking we don’t have adoption, consider this MetaMask and Mastercard are teaming up to launch a crypto debit card. The card works like a typical debit card but lets you spend straight from your MetaMask wallet. You control your crypto right up until you swipe. All transactions occur on Linea, an Ethereum layer-2 network, ensuring speed and efficiency.
This is a big deal for a few reasons:
1. Easier on-ramp: Simplifies crypto spending for everyday texts
2. Financial inclusion: Potential to bank the unbanked globally
3. Industry convergence: TradFi & blockchain tech are merging fast
Will crypto debit cards accelerate mainstream adoption?

WEB3 is about starting someplace and then eventually every place.
The IEEE standard developed here is WIFI6.
