When looking for a great business laptop, there are an endless amount of options to choose from. Apple’s line of Macbooks stands out as well as Windows laptops like the Dells XPS. However, Lenovo has been able to become a formidable challenger to some other better-known brands. Especially, when it comes to work laptops.
Although its personal computer history began about 20 years ago, Lenovo has a long and established reputation in the computer industry. Established in 1984 in Beijing China, the company has since grown to become one of the largest personal computer manufacturers in the world.
Lenovo establish itself as a trusted and reliable brand after it acquired IBM’s personal computer division in the early 2000s. These days, Lenovo is recognized as one of the most innovative computer companies in the world. The company’s products are known for their cutting-edge technology, stylish design, and exceptional performance. Lenovo’s commitment to delivering quality products has helped the company to maintain its reputation as a leader in the computer industry.
For those looking for something different, or if you’re already a fan of Lenovo and now want to add a device to improve your workday, check out the best business laptops made by Lenovo.
Without a doubt, Lenovo’s crowning achievement is the ThinkPad X1 Carbon. This high-end business laptop has already made our list of the best business laptops around so, naturally, we’d start with it. This beast of a laptop is a Lenovo gem that can handle lengthy jobs. Together, the Intel Core i7 processor and 16GB of RAM, along with the 512 GB SSD hard drive, work at top speed to bust out anything you throw at it.
You can enjoy working from anywhere with a reliable battery life of up to 15.5 hours and a recharge time of under an hour. Previous models of this machine were not equipped with Bluetooth but since 2019 these models now have that option.
Its sleek design, combined with a carbon fiber construction, gives it a premium feel and makes it both durable and lightweight. The ThinkPad X1 is powered by 12th Generation Intel Core i7-1260P processor with vPro. Which helps provide excellent performance for demanding tasks such as video editing and graphics design. This ultrabook is also super light at just 2.4 lbs.
It also comes with nice features like a fingerprint reader, Dolby Atmos speaker system, and a backlit spill-resistant keyboard for when you’re drinking coffee and working late nights.
The ThinkPad X1 is an excellent choice for business users who require a high-performance laptop that is both secure and portable. Its premium design, powerful specs, and long battery life make it a standout option in its class.
The ThinkBook is one of Lenovo’s laptops that was made specifically for those who work in small or medium-sized businesses. The laptop is optimized for performance and reliability while focusing on productivity.
The ThinkBook has a sleek, professional look and feel. This particular model comes with a 15.6-inch display that looks good and includes anti-glare tech so it is easy on the eyes. You also have a touchscreen available. It houses a 12th Generation Intel Deca-Core i7-1255U and also shoulders 16GB of RAM with 512 GB SSD.
The keyboard is comfortable and responsive, making it easy to type for long periods. It includes a 10-key numeric pad which seems to be one of the things Lenovo values as this feature is included in the Legion and ThinkPad X1.
We appreciate the webcam which is 1080p. Those who are frequently video conferencing will notice the clarity of video and images. Overall, the ThinkBook is a solid choice for those who want a lot of professional features and performance.
The Legion is a unique laptop as it is designed to be a business laptop that is also a gaming laptop. Lenovo has marketed the Legion 5 and the Legion 7 as dual-function laptops. As a gaming laptop, you get NVIDIA GTX 1660Ti GPU. So, it is certainly equipped enough to handle its gaming responsibilities.
The Legion has plenty of USB connectivity. It offers one Thunderbolt 4 / USB-C port and a USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 port. There is another USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 port around the back and a rear USB-C Gen 2 port.
As a business laptop, it is up to the task as well. The Legion 5 comes with the AMD Ryzen 7 4800H mobile processor. You also get 512GB of hard drive space. The backlit keyboard feels nice and 10 keypad help make the device more functional for working on work projects. However, the battery life when working is not great, at only 5 hours.
One thing to note about the Legion is its size. As business laptops are becoming thinner and sleeker, the Legion is bulkier measuring up to 1.1 inches thick. It’s heavier as well. This device weighs in at 5.4 lbs. This is at least a pound heavier than the Ideapad 3. Although, a great business laptop, the Legion is not the ideal business laptop for traveling.
The Lenovo Ideapad 3 is a good laptop that is suitable for both personal and business use. For the sake of this review, we’ve chosen the 17-inch model because it has more features you would be looking for in a business laptop. The keyboard is comfortable to type on and the touchpad is precise and responsive. However, it is not a backlit keyboard which would’ve been a nice addition.
The Ideapad 3 is powered by a Core i7-1165G7 processor. Which provides adequate performance for basic productivity tasks. You get more when it comes to storage and RAM. This model comes with 1 TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD storage and 36G of RAM. For security, it comes with a webcam privacy shutter and fingerprint readers. The battery life is much better than the Legion at 7.5 hours but could be better.
Overall, the Lenovo Ideapad 3 is a solid option for those who are looking for a basic laptop for everyday business use. However, for business users who require more advanced security features and higher performance, you may want to go with the ThinkBook or ThinkPad instead.
